processing of the above-mentioned three main findings:

These different and contemporary processes occur in a very short time (less than a
few seconds) and all of them in a single step.


The Pulverization takes place, according to the calibration of the machine, with the
effect of obtaining a particle size ranging from 0.1 to 80 microns.


The Dehydration is because all the solid particles once ground are conveyed towards
the bottom, whereas the vapour and any gas escaping upwards along the duct of the
extraction. Of course, at the end of this conduit must be applied to a dust in order to
eliminate a very small amount of micro dust that can exit in this direction (especially in the starting phase of the transient before reaching the steady-state operation).


The Sterilization is performed because the inside of the vortex you create the huge gap of temperature in distances of short (from + 600° C to -170° C in intervals of approximately 150-200 microns), and at the same time generate micro-shock waves around 150-3500 atm.

On the basis of the experiments described above we found that the Lotus Flower Model FDL 2400 was able to process up to 150 cubic meters per hour with pre-implosion peripherals, transforming it into fine powder, with a volume reduction of about 70% of the density inserted media. The powder thus obtained is dehydrated and has a diameter close to 10 microns (hundredth of a hair).

As for the electric consumption the FDL 2400 realized in 2010 (diameter of 2.400 millimeters) it was 350 KW / h in working condition at steady state (energy needed to move the air compressors).

​As for the new version of the FDL 2400 (currently in the advanced design phase) we believe it is possible to achieve better technological results with a reduced consumption of around 220 - 240 kWh always in steady state.

The various machines made and tested were in a position to work 24 hours a day for two consecutive months with only a few hours of inactivity for the maintenance of the air compression turbine.

The intense and costly activity of realization and experimentation has become necessary since, as previously mentioned, the fluid and thermodynamic events that occur cannot be simulated with any type of CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) electronic calculation

In fact the experimentation carried out has shown that while dehydration and sterilization take place in every situation where the vortex system is developed, the energy efficiency and the dimensions of the pulverized elements depend on various factors such as:



  • Inlet geometry in air intake ducts
  • Turbulent or laminar flow of the incoming air
  • Air inlet temperatures (plastic materials are very sensitive to this)

Once the variability factors were acquired, the FDL 1200 Lotus Flower (2014 version) was started to be designed which, through the possibility of electronically adjusting the various inflow parameters, the presence of status detection encoders, and a customized software it is able to adapt to the various needs of the materials to be pulverized, ensuring the highest possible energy consumption.

Coal: Many countries around the world burn brown coal as a fuel source to generate electricity. Although brown coal is abundant and relatively easy to reach, one of its disadvantages is that it contains up to 65% moisture, which significantly hinders its ignition. In fact, up to two thirds of the energy generated by the combustion of brown coal is lost in the drying process as it enters the furnace. As a result, many of these power plants have an unenviable efficiency index of less than 15%.

In the food industry: FDL has the ability to process numerous ingredients, separately or simultaneously, in very fine fractions. The absence of heat during the process provides a number of positive aspects for the industry. FDL can also be used as a blender or mixer that can remove a number of steps from the production sequence.

Liquid coal: Liquid coal technology requires that the coal be ground to fine particles and dried before being turned into gas and then liquefied.


A wide range of industrial processes requires extremely fine particle sizes to be used in the production of cosmetics, paints, chemicals, pharmaceuticals and ingredients for food and beverage production. These industries will benefit greatly from FDL with a reduction in the cost of refining their ingredients and more consistent particle sizes with unadulterated outputs.

Glass: FDL can efficiently process huge volumes of glass for reuse in secondary glass production at significantly lower costs and at significantly higher speeds than is currently possible.

Tires: Most western countries have now banned the burning and burial of tires as a form of disposal. The pollution caused by combustion is obvious, however, many of the problems associated with the use of landfill tires, such as earth movement many years after it was filled, are not commonly known.

Waste: FDL can be used in numerous recycling applications; however, and is particularly suitable for processing household waste, metal objects, plastic material or long chain molecular structures in general.


Cereals and seeds: FDL can process a wide range of cereals and seeds very efficiently. It processes whole grains and seeds more efficiently than conventional milling equipment, thanks to its ability to split the husk to a finer fraction. FDL reduces the number of passages required in the milling process, thus reducing energy costs and the final cost of the final product. The flour produced is usually higher in nutritional value due to the absence of heat generated by friction in conventional grinding processes. Surprisingly, the flour made from cereals and seeds processed by the FDL does not require preservatives to avoid rancidity. Normally whole wheat flour becomes rancid within 3 months of production, even when it is processed by microwave sterilization and added  preservatives, however, the flour produced by FDL processing will remain sterile from pathogens for years after processing, thus eliminating the need to use hazardous processing methods and unwanted preservatives. Real natural and organic flour can only be produced from FDL processing.

FDL also has the unique ability to repatriate contaminated grains in a high quality flour, removing moisture and pathogens from it during processing. This is of considerable benefit in areas where a significant amount of grain is lost due to moisture and contamination by pathogens and in regions where high humidity and precipitation produce harmful effects.

Oil: In oil extraction processes, the unique ability of FDL to break the skin structure makes more oil available than is possible with pressure or solvent extraction methods.
